The Needs

  • A division of ARAMARK Corporation, the Parks and Destinations Division manages some of the most unique locations for meetings and special events. Their collection includes conference centers, hotels, parks and resorts.
  • The Harrison Conference Center is a 364 room full-service conference center. The property has 64 conference rooms + 50,0000 sq. ft of meeting space.                       
  • The General Manager has full P&L responsability and oversees a staff of 150 employees (25 managers)

 

The Process

  • When the search was initiated, the property was in the midst of a major renovation. The ideal candidate would need to have conference center experience, renovation experience and a  strong ability to work directly with the owners.
  • Based on this profile and some other attributes, we built a list of 75-100 potential GM candidates recruited from hotels and conference centers in the mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions.
  • During the initial 2 weeks, we culled down the list to 10 potential candidates of which the client selected 5
  • Following phone interviews, the top 3 candidates were invited to the property for face to face meetings with the VP of Operations, VP of HR, and the President of the Division.
  • The final 2 candidates met with the Owners of the property.

 

 The Result

  • The Candidate successfully completed the renovation and fostered a much improved relationship with the owners of the property.
