Vice President of Security

The Needs

  • Understanding of security in a single unit and a corporate/multi-unit environment
  • Diverse candidate preferred to be better able to relate to the diverse client base at Motel Six's 1200 properties
  • Candidate needed to be a strong communicator, flexible and adaptable in light of the company's rapid national expansion; he/she requires a keen understanding of regional/cultural issues and well-versed in training methods


The Process

  • JDRQUEST identified the vice presidents/ directors of security in hotels nationwide
  • Networked with key contacts in the hospitality industry and preeminent decision-makers involved in large national/international events like the NBA, NFL and the Olympics
  • We also relied on our contacts in the various diversity associations, including the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Women's Food Service Forum.


The Stats

  • We compiled a list of 75 senior level Security Executives in a regional position or above, also considering those involved in their own security businesses.
  • Based on our clients criteria with regards to employment experience and salary requirements among others, this list was reduced to 15 potential candidates
  • After personal interviews with each of the candidates, five of these were deemed fully qualified.
